Not Lenny is the musical project of Ellie Baird. Raised in Illinois and newly based in Portland, Oregon. Accompanied by a top-tier band of friends she made while living on Washington’s Olympic Peninsula, Not Lenny is a group that’s taking the modern approach and throwing genre out the window. Ellie’s songs are essentially rock, and written from a need to feel everything full-on; good, bad, and (most often) in-between. She sings about shitty alcoholic ex-boyfriends, the fear of getting older with unmet goals, the loneliness of being misunderstood by those we love, but always with tongue in cheek and a fierce desire to see beauty in the world. Not Lenny’s debut EP, Desire, is out June 20th on Tarboo Tapes, a new label based out of the iconic Olympic peninsula venue, the Quilcene Lantern. Not Lenny will tour the PNW as a full band in June following the release, and Ellie will tour the midwest solo in August.
